Shower (Hydrotherapy) to Get Rid off Stress

Irrespective of the level of stress, taking a shower relieves us from it immediately. It brings a happy feeling to the body. For the relief to last longer, a new showering technique is explained by writer Vicky Vlachonis in her latest book The Body Doesn't Lie.

Hot and Cold:

Normally we take shower either with hot water or cold water. Taking shower with both hot and cold water alternatively will help in long lasting relief says Vicky. She mentions that this is one part of hydrotherapy. Please ensure that water should be bearably hot and not warm. Even cold water should be so cold that you could bear it. Take shower with hot water for 30 seconds and repeat the same with cold water. Repeat this 4 to 5 times. End the bath with cold water, using a soap or showering gel.

What happens?

With hot and cold water touching the body alternatively and added to it the water pressure keep the soul in a state of shock. So, the nerves will contract and expand alternatively. So, the impact of stress hormones reduce. Cytokines, the cell signalling protein molecules that stimulate movement of cells to the sites of stress and pain, will come under control.
