Benefits of Tulasi (Holy Basil)

With the onset of rainy season, cold, infection and other common diseases show up. With tulasi we can find ready solutions at home. We shall look at what kind of solutions are available for different problems.

Everyday early in the morning, take 10 to 15 leaves of tulasi and boil them in one glass of water. Then leave it till water becomes luke warm and then drink it. By drinking this water, diseases like fever, common cold and cough will come under control. For people suffering from asthma, bronchitis and other breathing related problems, add 15 to 20 tulasi leaves to half cup water and add small teaspoon of ginger paste to it. Then boil the mixture. After boiling, add one spoon full of honey and have it. It will give you immediate relief.

For people suffering from throat pain, put 15 to 20 tulasi leaves in boiled water and close the lid. Once the water becomes lukewarm, use it to gargle. Gargle at least 4 times in a day and you will see results very soon. Chewing tulasi leaves in the morning is also good for heart. It plays important role in reducing bad cholesterol levels in the body.
